- Hugh expanse of soft sand at lowtide
Huge expanse of soft sand at lowtide, the sea goes out far but do check tide times as you can get cut off when the tide comes in if you go too far from the entrance, Park on the road by Tregantle fort and go through the signed gate. Concrete slope down to the beach, quite steep coming back up so take it slowly. No facilities but a very popular beach with families and dog owners as it is so beautiful.

“The beaches at Whitsand Bay are some of the best in Cornwall, as the poster above stated there is a firing range. However that covers only a small part of the stretch of beach, there are several miles of sandy beaches. Would definitely recommend a short break here, I have found a useful site for the area - http://www.whitsandbay.info”

“This is a beautiful beach, but it is closed at certain times due to the firing range at Tregantle Fort. Do check the firing times at www.sheviockparish.org.uk/footpaths.php before you go! Open most weekends, and during holiday periods.”
