Dogs are welcome on Constantine Bay all year round with no seasonal restrictions. This makes it an ideal location if you're looking for a reliable beach to visit at any time of year. As always, owners are expected to keep their dogs under control and clean up after them to help maintain the beach’s natural beauty.

Beach Features and Surroundings
The beach itself is expansive, with plenty of space for dogs to run, especially at low tide when the sands stretch out further. Behind the beach are sand dunes and rocky areas, which provide extra interest for adventurous dogs and their owners. The surrounding landscape is beautiful and mostly unspoilt, making for great photo opportunities and peaceful walks.

To the north of Constantine Bay is Booby’s Bay, another dog-friendly beach that is only accessible at low tide. While Booby’s Bay has no facilities, it’s worth visiting as part of a longer walk. Do keep an eye on the tide though, as the beach disappears completely at high tide.

Surf and Sea Conditions
Constantine Bay is a well-known surfing beach and attracts experienced surfers due to its powerful waves and reef breaks. The waves can be strong, and the water is not recommended for inexperienced swimmers or beginner surfers. The beach does have lifeguard cover during the main summer season, typically from late April to mid-September, which helps improve safety during busy periods.

If you're visiting with a dog, be cautious near the water, as the surf can be rough and there are sometimes strong rip currents. The beach shelves quite steeply in places, and there are rocky areas to watch out for.

Parking and Facilities
Parking is available in a small car park near the beach, but spaces are limited—around 30 in total. It can fill up quickly in peak season, so arriving early is advisable. Overflow parking is sometimes available a short walk away or at nearby Treyarnon Bay.

There are public toilets with disabled access close to the beach, and a small seasonal shop selling snacks and surf gear can be found at the top of the beach access path. While there aren’t any cafés or restaurants directly on the beach, the nearby village of St Merryn has several places to eat and drink, many of which welcome dogs.

Walks and Coastal Scenery
The South West Coast Path runs through Constantine Bay, making it a great starting point for a coastal walk. You can follow the path north to Booby’s Bay and beyond, or head south toward Treyarnon Bay. Both routes offer stunning sea views and plenty of opportunities to stop and let your dog explore.

Always carry waste bags and use the bins provided.
