Trevalgan Farm Holidays - Dog Friendly Holiday Cottages in St Ives Cornwall
Holidays are important whatever your reason for wanting to get away. We care about what we’re doing and it shows.
We’re a small, family-run business so we’re never too far away should you need us. We aim to create a home from home experience so you will find the cottages to be modern, attractive, comfortable, clean and well-equipped.
Trevalgan Farm is a working farm in St Ives, Cornwall, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, boasting its very own stretch of the Cornish coastline!
The Carthouse (sleeps 6)
Situated in the courtyard this cottage makes a great base for a family holiday.
Before its conversion, The Carthouse was used to store many of the farm implements as well as the cart and a handful of chickens roaming around. Secure 4ft enclosed picket fence
2 Small / Medium Dog Welcome
The Parlour (sleeps 4)
This ground floor apartment was formerly part of the milking shed where the small herd of Guernsey cows would have been chained up and milked by hand – a far cry from today’s high-tech methods.
2 Small / Medium Dog Welcome
The Stable (sleeps 2)
No prizes for guessing what this cottage used to be! Home to the farm workhorses when they weren’t busy pulling ploughs, carts, cultivators and generally fulfilling the role a tractor does today. Secure 4ft enclosed picket fence.
2 Small / Medium Dog Welcome
Lanhydrock (sleeps 5)
This was once used as a pig sty and food store but Lanhydrock is now an attractive single-story cottage situated in the courtyard area where the cows used to wait at milking time. It is now a pleasant sitting-out area where a relaxing drink can be enjoyed at the end of the day while the children play in the playground nearby.
Each room has lovely views across the fields to the sea, sometimes the cattle look through the windows to see how the other half live!! Secure 4ft enclosed picket fence.
2 Small / Medium Dog Welcome
Out & About
Walkers are spoiled for choice. The coastal footpath is breathtakingly beautiful and West Cornwall’s rich Celtic history means there’s standing stones, ancient burial sites and much more for you to discover. Your only problem will be deciding what to do first!
The Eden Project is a must and it’s just an hour away. The Minack Theatre built into the cliffs at Portchcurno creates a memorable backdrop to any production but be prepared for a passing school of dolphins to steal the show. Lands End is also easily accessible along with a host of other attractions including National Trust gardens, World Heritage Mining sites, golf courses and family based attractions such as Flambards and Dairyland.
St. Ives is five minutes down the road. A truly charming seaside town it has plenty to offer both the young and old. For art lovers there’s the Tate of the West, Barbara Hepworth Museum, Leach Pottery and any number of smaller galleries. Two of the town’s beaches are world class. Both awarded Blue Flag status, Porthmeor is a mecca for surfers whilst Porthminster is a favourite for families. It’s easy to spend a day pottering along the cobbled streets filled with crafts, locally designed jewellery, unique clothes shops and much more. St. Ives has also developed a great reputation for food from cream teas to fresh fish, there’s something for every palate and pocket.
