Old Barn Tregonetha - Dog Friendly Cottage in St Columb Major, Cornwall
Multi Award Winning! With its unique contemporary eco-friendly design and quiet rural location not too far from Padstow, Old Barn Tregonetha is a true luxury self-catering gem. The vaulted ceiling of the first floor sitting room creates an large open space for accomplished pianists to play the regularly tuned quality piano.
During summer months open the south facing balcony door to welcome in the all-day sunshine and enjoy the peaceful wildlife in the mature well-kept garden. Old Barn Tregonetha has everything you need including a modern kitchen including state of the art electric Aga and separate utility room. We are an independent property and not part of a complex.
Accessibility:
Old Barn Tregonetha being some 250 years old is not obviously accessible to all, however, we have made a main ground floor access which is level and wide enough for wheelchair access. Internally on the ground floor we have wide bi-fold doors, one King double 5ft (Hypnos) and one single 3ft ground floor bedrooms and an accessible ground floor bathroom between the bedrooms. There is a small step up into the kitchen but this is hi-lighted with led strip lights and the stairs to the first floor are also lit with LED’s.
There is also level access to the south facing gardens which are also all level including the paved garden dining and BBQ area. The garden can also be lit in the evenings.
We are family friendly with a Cot, Hi-Chair and Stair-gate.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
The first floor king-size bedroom has an adjoining bathroom with deep slipper bath tub and open wet room shower. Downstairs there is a smartly furnished single room, as well as a second king-size bedroom with fine linens. We pride ourselves in providing top quality Hypnos Kingsize beds for a perfect nights sleep. The ground floor double room also benefits from a south facing sun room which has access to the garden and will provide an alternative space for breakfast.
There is a bold rustic family bathroom on the ground floor with bath and luxury rain head shower, which boasts a dramatic contrast of original Cornish stonework, contemporary modern sanitary ware and wow factor lighting.
Outside:
The enclosed pet safe mature well stocked gardens will be a welcome outside space to enjoy alfresco dining with the solid granite table and chairs along with the patio and modern gas BBQ. The patio has lighting extending your outside evenings on warm nights. Some of Cornwall's finest beaches can be found a short distance from the Old Barn on the dramatic North Coast. There is ample parking for several cars. We also have EV Chargers installed so you can remain 'fully charged' throughout your stay!

For Relaxation:
A log burner plus the eco ground source heat pump and underfloor heating throughout, together with the Aga ensure that the property is evenly warm even in the coldest weather in winter. The property boasts superfast broadband Wi Fi and a Loewe Smart TV with Blue Ray DVD/CD Player and sound bar Hi-Fi!
Practicalities:
In the very well-equipped hi-spec kitchen there is an new electric Aga, double dishwasher and multi-function microwave oven.
There is also a generous utility with washing machine and tumble dryer together with a contemporary stainless steel Belfast sink. Here you will also find washing tablets, beach and dog towels and spare dog bowls just in case you forget your own.
Please note that the piano will be locked unless its use is requested in advance by musicians wishing to play. Stephen the owner lives close by in a neighbouring property and is available should you need anything at all. However, he won’t bother or intrude on your private space unless requested to do so.
