Sahara - Dog Friendly Accommodation in Rock, Cornwall

Rock, in North Cornwall, is a small village ideally suited for holidays. We offer information about the area and places to stay in the area. You can rent the Sahara holiday cottage weekly direct from private owners. Rock itself is surrounded by beaches for sunbathing and building sand castles and is great for watersports including sailing, surfing at nearby Polzeath, waterskiing and wakeboarding. One can also play golf at the St. Enodoc golf course or take the Black Tor ferry across to Padstow, a classic fishing town.



Our Dog Friendly Accommodation
Sahara is a four bedroom coastal family home within 5 minutes walk of the beach at Rock. The house enjoys a sunny aspect with spacious living and dining rooms an ensuite shower room, family bathroom+shower and downstairs WC, sauna and shower room.  There is also a sofa bed in the sittingroom.

Sahara is updated and improved each winter to ensure that each year the regular visitors see changes and improvements.



The house has a fully enclosed front garden, with a pedestrian gate, to prevent your dog or children from escaping, and a small South facing patio and decking area. The house has views across the River Camel estuary to Padstow and to the hills above.

The front garden has a large teak garden table and 12 chairs for barbeques and outside meals. Two stainless steel barbeques are provided for your use.

There is parking in the drive for at least four cars or boats. The carpeted former double garage is now a playroom. This is ideal to change out of your wetsuit or to store your buggies or skiing and boating items or your golf equipment.



Sahara is marked by a paw print on the map - note that the house is within a few minutes walk of the Golf Club, the Sailing Club, the shops, the Padstow Ferry and Rock and Porthillly beaches. A longer walk across the dunes or golf course will take you to Daymer Bay and Polzeath Beach beyond.

Outside
Sahara has a sloping drive down to the former garage - which is now carpeted and used as a play room and changing room - and additional store area. If you have careful drivers you can park four or five cars or boats on the drive. Access to the house is either by using the front door via the pedestrian gate at the front of the building, or the garage (recommended), or beside the garage through onto the decking and in through the back door.  In the front garden, which faces the western afternoon sun, is a large teak table and 12 chairs for BBQs and outdoor meals. The small rear terrace faces south for sun lovers and for morning relaxation and has a raised decking area leading to the SAUNA. There is also a large rotary clothes airer.



Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac leading off the Rock Road it is peaceful yet has all the advantages of being within walking distance of the beaches at Porthilly (down a footpath) and Rock. It is also easy to reach The St Enedoc Golf Club. Nearby shops include - Newsagents, Barnecutts Bakery, John Watts Butchers, Post Office, Spar, Delicatessen, Clock Garage, etc. One can also walk to the Mariners pub and to several of the local pubs & restaurants.

From the house you can walk down the footpath to Porthilly Beach or up across the golf course and dunes which gives spectacular views of the island and headlands at the mouth of the Camel Estuary and out to the Atlantic. Dogs are allowed on most of the local beaches and dune areas throughout the year.
