Porthcothan Bay Beach is a sandy, west-facing beach in a narrow, sheltered cove between Newquay and Padstow, Cornwall. At low tide the beach extends out of the cove into the Atlantic, and connects to smaller beaches in picturesque coves up and down the coast.

The rear of the beach is backed by dunes. As the beach nears the Atlantic, scenic cliffs rise either side of the beach, providing its shelter. Porthcothan is a popular family beach in an area rich with suchlike. Beaches at Bedruthan Steps and Mawgan Porth to the south, and Treyarnon Bay, Constantine Bay and Harlyn Bay to the north, are all within 4 miles of Porthcothan Bay. All of these beaches can be reached on foot along the South West Coast Path.
