Description:Fistral, situated in the town of Newquay, is a west facing long sandy beach offering some of the best surfing in the country. Commonly divided into two beaches - North and South Fistral. Backed by high cliffs. Very popular with families and day trippers.

Amenities:Restaurants/cafes, pubs, shops, amusement arcades, B&Bs, campsite and a large new Surfing centre.

Dogs:Dog friendly beach.

Surfing info:The most well known surf spot in Cornwall. For beginners and the experienced surfers.

Lifeguard service:Lifeguards on this beach North Fistral29th April- 25th September 2011 including the9th - 25th April 2011. October weekends are also covered including the week of the 22nd - 30th October.

South Fistral2nd July-4th September 2011.

Beach ownership:Cornwall council.

Cleansing:The beach is cleaned daily during summer. Litter bins are available.
