Crantock Cottages (Churchgate Cottage) - Dog Friendly Cottage in Crantock, Cornwall

Churchgate Cottage is a Grade 2 listed property situated right in the heart of the traditional Cornish seaside village of Crantock near Newquay. The full history of the cottage is not known but it is understood that it has had many uses over its years including as both a schoolhouse and poorhouse bakery.

The most well known fact locally is that the building used to be a bake house for the monastery that stood on the site of the original church. Old bread ovens can be seen in Lanherne Cottage next door, but sadly the ones in Churchgate broke up during renovation.

Available for holiday let all year round Churchgate Cottage is a home from home and a perfect location to remove the stresses of every day life.

The Cottage
Churchgate Cottage sleeps up to 4 guests. The dwelling comprises of an entrance hall, living room and kitchen downstairs.  Upstairs there are two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with full size bunk beds), and a bathroom with basin, toilet and bath inclusive of electric shower.

The kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, fridge, microwave and toaster. The living room has digital TV and a DAB radio/CD player.  There is dedicated wifi throughout. Heating is by modern electric radiators and there is an immersion heater for hot water. A travel cot and high chair are also available on request.

There is parking space for one car at the back of the cottage. Churchgate also has a small raised patio area with seating. We must highlight that this is accessed by steep steps and may therefore be unsuitable for small children and those unstable on their feet.

Location
The cottage is located beside the church and approximately 600 yards from Crantock Beach. The village beach, shop and two pubs are all within walking distance and with Crantock being situated fairly centrally within the county it is an ideal base for exploring the many delights of the Cornish coast and countryside.

Crantock is close enough to Newquay for a quick drive or taxi ride in and out, to explore the pleasant seaside town, but far enough away to enjoy the tranquillity of a small coastal village.

The bus stop is a 3 minute walk from the cottage, with routes into Newquay or Truro from which connecting buses can get you to most places in the county by either bus, coach or train.
