Post House Garden Holiday Cottages - Dog Friendly Cottages In Cwmbach, Carmarthenshire
Post House Garden Holiday Cottages lie at the heart of the tiny hamlet of Cwmbach in Carmarthenshire and are an ideal base for exploring South West Wales. The Pembrokeshire coastline is within easy reach by car and there you will find some of the most beautiful attractions in South West Wales and some of the best kept secrets in the UK!
The property consists of the owners' residence, two self-catering holiday cottages and a five acre woodland garden. Cwmbach means "small valley" and this sums up the setting perfectly, the site lies on the River Sien and was originally a water powered corn mill. In recent decades the buildings have served as a village store, a petrol station and a post office, and have always been at the heart of the local community.
The two holiday cottages have been refurbished to a high standard and today offer cosy and welcoming (dog friendly) accommodation for couples or family groups seeking the perfect rural retreat, a place to relax and unwind.
The peaceful valley offers real tranquillity and a complete break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet the cottage location (only six miles from the A40 and central between north and south coastlines) gives easy access to the unspoilt rolling countryside, historical attractions and beautiful beaches of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and The Gower Peninsula.
Kingfisher Cottage
Kingfisher cottage lies adjacent to the River Sien and sleeps up to five people in three bedrooms; there is a master double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. The cottage has a modern feel with a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable open-plan living area. Heating is provided by super-efficient electric radiators and, at chillier times of year, a log burner offers additional warmth and a cosy ambiance.
In front of the holiday cottage is a seating area where you can relax and listen to the babbling water of the River Sien or watch the birds of prey that often soar in the sky above the woodland garden. If you wait patiently you may catch a glimpse of the kingfisher, after whom the cottage is named, or even an otter!
Red Kite Cottage
Red Kite adjoins the owners' residence, it is a spacious cottage that sleeps up to five people in two bedrooms: a master double bedroom and a family bedroom with three single beds. The cottage has central heating and the building's ancient stone walls ensure a comfortable ambient temperature all year round.
The comfortable lounge and dining area has two steps which lead up to a fully equipped modern kitchen with an additional breakfast area comprising a table with four stools. The kitchen looks out onto a raised patio and the woodland garden beyond.
The bathroom has a WC and full size bath with an electric shower over. In addition there is a second room with WC and basin.
