Waunifor Holiday Cottages - Dog Friendly Cottages in Llandysul, Ceredigion

Welcome to Waunifor, a hidden gem of a place offering holiday cottages and self catering accommodation in the Teifi Valley, West Wales. Originally a historic estate steeped in history, Waunifor is a magnificent and special place, much loved and valued by all who come here.

Duckpond (sleeps 2)
Duckpond Holiday Cottage is part of the historic Waunifor Estate and adjoins Robin Holiday Cottage. It has one small bedroom with a double bed and a cosy lounge with sofa, dining table and chairs and an open plan kitchen with electric cooker, microwave oven, small fridge, sink and kitchen equipment. It has a bath and shower with toilet.In front of the holiday cottage is a grassy area with picnic table and nearby is the fenced off duck pond which is a haven for wildlife. The surrounding trees are filled with birds and you will enjoy listening to all the sounds of nature as you relax on your holiday.

Robin Cottage (sleeps 4)
Robin Holiday Cottage is a delightful single storey stone and slate holiday cottage that can accommodate up to four people. There are 3 bedrooms - 1 double bedroom and 2 singles - a shower room with toilet and a cosy lounge with French windows opening on to the garden plus kitchen. It has three good sized bedrooms which include one double room and two singles. There is an electric shower, wash basin and WC. In the lounge there is a dining table with chairs, armchair and sofa, Freeview TV with DVD player. The kitchen has an electric oven, under counter fridge with ice box, microwave oven and a hatch through to the lounge. A shared lawn overlooks the duck-pond and woodland copse and has a picnic table. Parking is available directly outside the front door.

Stable Cottage (sleeps 6)
Stable Holiday Cottage, as the name suggests, is a converted stone stable. It was once part of the historic Waunifor estate and housed the family’s horses and retains some character features, such as recesses which held hay. It is a homely holiday cottage with lots of character and provides comfortable accommodation for a family or group of up to 6 people on two levels.

Stable self-catering accommodation sleeps six people in three twin-bedded rooms, all upstairs. We can convert one of the twin bedrooms into a double bedroom so please let us know if this is your preference. There is plenty of room in two of the bedrooms for a cot if required. Also upstairs is the bathroom with bath, WC and wash basin. Downstairs is a shower cubicle along with hand basin.

The spacious kitchen/breakfast room is equipped with an electric oven, fridge and microwave. The lovely cosy beamed lounge is large with 2 sofas and also contains a dining table and chairs and a Freeview TV and DVD player.

The lounge has a wood burning stove which makes it very cosy during the colder months and also has double glass doors opening out onto a slate patio overlooking the courtyard garden. There is a picnic table and barbecues are available on request. Stable cottage oozes charm and character and is a popular choice for a holiday. We also have an alternative cottage sleeping up to 6 people which is Carriage Mews. For family groups of up to 20 you may wish to book Coachhouse Mews (sleeps 8), Carriage Mews (sleeps 6) and Stable Cottage which are all clustered together around a shared lawn and courtyard garden.

Carriage Mews - Sleeps 6
A lovely modern cottage blending traditional features with contemporary style accommodation all on ground level. There is large open plan room with wooden floors featuring a modern kitchen and dining area with pine table and chairs and a large lounge with wood-burning stove. The huge feature window is south facing and lets in lots of light. The cottage is well lit with uplighters and has two comfy sofas in the lounge clustered around a coffee table and freeview TV and DVD player as well as CD player. The kitchen has an electric oven, microwave and fridge and is fully equipped with crockery, cooking ware and utensils although no dishwasher.

As well as a huge double bedroom there are two large bedrooms with twin beds and a separate toilet and bathroom with attached shower and all rooms have wardrobes, bedside tables, mirrors and bedside lamps.

Carriage Mews is the lower level of the building shown with Coachhouse Mews (sleeping 8) above and is a historic building which once housed the horse drawn carriages for the Waunifor estate. We also have another cottage sleeping 6 people called Stable Cottage. For larger groups or family gatherings, Coachhouse, Carriage Mews and Stable Cottage sleep a maximum of 20 people and are all located close together.

Coach House Mews - Sleeps 8
Coach House is an elegantly proportioned self catering holiday cottage which once provided accommodation for the Waunifor estate coachman and his family and is located on an upper level above Carriage Mews. It is a very popular cottage with large sash windows providing lots of light and is full of character with views across the courtyard garden. The rooms are all on one level reached by a short flight of steps and the accommodation is arranged with several bedrooms and a bathroom at each end with a large kitchen diner and lounge in the middle so is ideal for two families.

Coach House is very popular with our guests who love the spacious layout and lovely views, it is also very cosy and warm and ideal for weekends or winter breaks as well as summer holidays. It is all on one level and is reached by a short flight of fairly steep steps so may not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems (we have other cottages on one level). Outside the Coach House is a shared courtyard with grassy lawns, flower borders, a rose garden and picnic tables. Parking is available close-by. For family gatherings of up to 20 people Carriage Mews, Stable and Coachhouse Mews make a perfect choice.
