Catherine is totally in tune with Rupert, his funny habits, such as, stopping dead when a twig has got stuck in his coat, trying to fly when he spots a pigeon on a telegraph pole, but also knowing when he is off colour. As far as we are concerned, Catherine has done over and above the call of duty since being introduced to Rupert. “Since Larson (my seven year old chocolate Labrador) has been ‘holidaying’ with Catherine I have been able to go on holiday without any worries! When we first met, Catherine took great care in learning about Larson’s likes/dislikes, dietary needs, health problems and funny habits – of which there are many! He never looks back when I leave him and is always tired and happy when I collect him. The fact that I know he receives the same carefully monitored off-lead exercise as he does at home is very reassuring and I know I won’t return to the very ‘hyper’ dog that greeted me following a stay in kennels. Larson loves the home from home environment Catherine and her family provide with the added companionship of Lucy, Harry, Bella and the adorable Florence. “Last year we moved into the area and suddenly found we needed to find someone to walk our dog Billy, luckily for us Catherine was advertising in the parish news. We made a quick phone call to her and she arranged to visit us at home and meet Billy. On this visit she explained all about her service, costs etc. and introduced her sister Nicole who also helps out sometimes. The very next day Catherine started walking Billy and has done so two or three times a week ever since. Catherine has proved to be both flexible and reliable during this time and often leaves me little notes about Billy and his walks, showing genuine concern over his welfare. If Catherine needs for any reason to make changes to our arrangements eg she may need to come 15 minutes earlier she always asks if it is ok giving as much notice as possible. “We have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Dash). We had planned to go on holiday quite a while before we had Dash and so when the time arose for our holiday we were naturally very concerned as to where Dash could go. The breeder had advised us that Cavaliers do not like kennels and that a home environment would be far better. We found Catherine's details on the National Petsitters website and arrangements were made to visit with Dash. Dash is part of our family and it was clear to see that Catherine's own dogs and those she looks after are very important to her, this made us feel very confident to leave Dash with Catherine knowing that he would be very well cared and loved, even allowing him to sleep on the family bed just like he does at home. The last site we saw of Dash when we went on our holiday was him being carried in Catherine's arms with his tail wagging away - he didn't even look back at us, much to our dismay. On his return home he was very quiet, after so much dog company at Catherine's we think he was lonely and missing his holiday home. Now whenever we go near Catherine's house in the car Dash becomes very excited expecting another adventurous weekend. In short we have no hesitation in recommending Catherine as a petsitter.
